Assignment
Hartwig Medical Foundation needed a new identity to reflect its shift from generating and storing genomic data to becoming a trusted global steward. The design had to convey advanced expertise in DNA/RNA sequencing and biomarker discovery while remaining clear, trustworthy, and compassionate.
Insight
Initially focused on building one of the world’s largest genomic datasets, Hartwig now safeguards and shares this data with select partners to advance cancer research worldwide. Red, white, and blue in the identity reference its Dutch roots, key to credibility on the global stage.
Solution,
A clean wordmark is paired with an abstract genomic motif of blue and red bars around a central dot, subtly forming an “H.” Blue signals trust and collaboration, red conveys urgency and heritage, while modern typography balances professionalism with approachability.
Result
The identity unites Hartwig’s mission “Together, we’ll bring data-driven cancer care to all” and works seamlessly across scientific, clinical, and public platforms, reinforcing recognition and impact.
